The Onley Group has been serving clients worldwide since 2006. Originally established as a partnership, Onley Group is now incorporated as "Onley Technical Consulting LTD" a Company Limited by Shares in England and Wales, company number 07728571.

We are based in three main locations: Cambridge UK, Essex UK, and near Murcia in Spain. In addition to teams at these locations, we maintain a close network of Associate Specialists. Our Associate Specialists are situated across the globe working remotely.

When your business commissions Onley Group to a project, a team is assembled based upon the skills required for the project. The team will always involve a senior Consultant or Consultant Specialist, Attendants (experienced members with an interest in your sector or platform), and several Associate Specialists. They will communicate closely with you and the rest of the team throughout the life of the project.

We will always negotiate payment terms openly with you at the start of the project. Many clients are keen for the same Onley Group team to undertake further work, and we will aim to keep this team open to you after your project is completed.

Our Infrastructure

We operate across three main sites, in Silicon Fen (Cambridge), Essex and south-east Spain (Murcia). Each site has its own Tier 2 data centre which incorporates Onley Group's development servers, VPN, on-site backup, in-house document and email service, IP telephony and security systems. All three sites cross-communicate through these on-site data centres and provide mutual off-site backups for each other. For remote and cloud-based client applications, we lease services from third party Tier 3/4 data centres.

Onley Group runs entirely on open-source software (except for the proprietary software we have developed ourselves). Our servers run Ubuntu Linux server edition, and desktops run either Ubuntu, Xubuntu or Arch Linux. In our experience employees have found it very easy to adapt to these desktop interfaces, retraining is minimal. Administrative and marketing duties use open-source software such as LibreOffice, Scribus, Inkscape, GIMP. For communications we use Mozilla Firefox, Citadel and Evolution for email, and Asterisk for VoIP. In order to give something back to the open source communities, Onley Group operates a "Give Something Back" scheme where much of the software that we develop that is not commercially sensitive or restricted by contracts gets open sourced and floated onto GitHub and SourceForge for the open source community to use.

Resident employees, associates and interns at Onley Group have the ability to undertake nearly all of their work remotely thanks to our infrastructure, and we provide full support for our staff and clients who use Onley approved platforms.
